“Moldova in the Spotlight:” The Vienna Economic Forum is taking place in Chisinau

The Vienna Economic Forum is taking place in Chisinau. Prime Minister Dorin Recean, whose auspices the event with the motto “Moldova in the Spotlight. We Continue to Build Economic Bridges in Difficult Times,” addressed the country’s investment potential in renewable energy, industry, electronics, and the pharmaceutical sector.

The Prime Minister of Moldova stated that the country aims to join the European Union. In this context, he highlighted the economic benefits of EU integration.

“This path already gives us access to the EU single market and other global markets through the EU’s trade agreements. The Republic of Moldova remains determined to advance its reform process,” the head of government said.

He also emphasized the digitalization of the economy and the development of the information technology sector, noting the stability of the country’s financial sector and welcoming investments in the insurance industry.

Business leaders from 21 European countries attended the Vienna Economic Forum. The forum provides a platform for strengthening economic cooperation across the Adriatic and Black Sea regions. It is the fourth time the event has been held in Chisinau.

Moldovan authorities aim to expand the country’s foreign investment portfolio through the forum. The main topics at the 2025 meeting include Moldova’s economic integration into the European and global markets, infrastructure projects, and strengthening energy resilience.
