Margret Uebber ends her term as Germany’s ambassador to Moldova

German Ambassador to Moldova, Margret Maria Uebber, ends her term. Vice Prime Minister Mihai Popsoi thanked her during a farewell meeting, stating that Moldova–Germany relations advanced significantly during her tenure.

“I thanked Ambassador Uebber for Germany’s support in advancing Moldova’s European path and for her active role in deepening political dialogue and expanding bilateral cooperation,” said Minister Mihai Popsoi.

He highlighted significant developments in bilateral relations, including Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s visits to Chisinau and the Federal Foreign Minister. He also noted Germany’s active involvement in the Moldova Support Platform.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Uebber supported democratic reforms, public administration modernization, local development, and assistance for vulnerable groups. She also promoted key projects in security, transport, and energy.

The Foreign Ministry’s press service told IPN that authorities have not yet announced her successor, and the German Embassy in Moldova said it cannot provide information on the matter.

Margaret Maria Uebber began her mission in Moldova on September 14, 2022. Previously, she served as Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2019 to 2022.
