Applicants who propose activities to combat disinformation will receive extra evaluation points. Eligible projects may include strategies and capacity-building efforts for civil society organizations and activists to better identify and defend against disinformation threats. Organizers encourage partnerships between various stakeholders and support vulnerable groups to protect themselves more effectively.
The first call for 2025 fellowships, launched in December 2024, focused on the environment and climate change. Funded by the European Union, the Civil Society Facility supports civil society in the six Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine). It aims to empower civil society actors to engage in policy-making, promote reforms and public accountability, and foster local democracy.
So far, the fellowship network includes 200 graduates from all six Eastern Partnership countries.
