The Republic of Moldova will receive €12 million in financial support from Belgium to implement the “Decentralized Drinking Water Supply for Moldova” project. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea signed today’s loan agreement alongside Belgian Ambassador to Moldova Evert Maréchal.
The project aims to install 85 drinking water kiosks in rural areas, providing access to clean and filtered water for at least 55,000 residents in communities currently dependent on wells or lacking reliable water infrastructure.
“Thanks to this project, communities will gain access to clean and filtered water through specially equipped kiosks, which offer a modern and safe alternative for settlements that now rely on wells,” said Deputy Prime Minister Bolea. He also thanked Belgium for its “strategic partnership and investments that directly impact people’s lives.”
