President Maia Sandu held a meeting with Nicolae Stefanuta, the Vice President of the European Parliament, who is visiting Chisinau. According to IPN, the discussions focused on Moldova’s European path, regional security, and ensuring the integrity of democratic processes.
The head of state welcomed the recent European Parliament report on Moldova, “which recognizes the progress made in the EU accession process” and “reaffirmed her strong commitment to continuing reforms.” They also addressed regional security challenges and the importance of organizing “free and fair parliamentary elections this autumn.”

Chisinau Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu also met with the European official. Following their discussion, the Moldovan speaker emphasized the importance of European support: “The European Parliament firmly supports Moldova’s European course. The report passed a few days ago, with a large majority of votes, reconfirms this support and is proof that we are on the right path.”
The two dignitaries discussed their joint parliamentary agenda and outlined concrete steps to transform Moldova and improve the lives of its people.
“Our objective is to become part of the great European family by 2028. We know this journey is not easy, but we know that, together with our partners and friends, we will manage to be on the right side of history,” stated Igor Grosu.
