Moldova Celebrates National Folk Costume Day with Presidential Photo Exhibition

To mark National Folk Costume Day, celebrated annually on the last Sunday of June, the Presidency of the Republic of Moldova has opened a photo exhibition along the fence of the presidential institution. The display showcases the diversity of traditional attire from across the country, highlighting the richness of Moldova’s cultural heritage.

The exhibition was organized in collaboration with the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History and with the support of ethnographer, researcher, and university professor Varvara Buzila. Dr. Buzila was recently honored with the Our Europe Prize 2025 in the “Heritage Champions” category, recognizing her exceptional contribution to promoting and preserving Moldova’s cultural identity.

The Presidency states that the exhibition displays photographs of folk costumes from various regions of Moldova. They showcase Moldova’s rich cultural and traditional heritage. It is open to the public until July 31.
