Fugitive politician Ilan Shor announced that his newly formed political bloc, “Victory – Pobeda,” will take part in Moldova’s upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for September 28. The announcement followed a meeting held in Moscow and attended by several Russian officials, according to Telegram channels affiliated with Shor.
Shor revealed that Eugenia Gutul, the current Governor of Gagauzia, will lead the bloc’s electoral list. He added that the bloc intends to submit the necessary registration documents to authorities in Chisinau next week.
At the Moscow gathering, Shor reiterated his controversial position that Moldova’s future lies in unification with Russia.

“I believe the union with the Russian Federation must be strong and enduring for centuries. We share traditions, history, a way of life, and common sense,” he stated.
Moldovan courts previously declared the Shor Party illegal. Since then, Shor has reportedly coordinated multiple political organizations from abroad, merging them into the “Victory – Pobeda” bloc. Authorities in Chisinau suspect these groups of receiving illicit funding from Shor and violating campaign finance laws.
Eugenia Gutul, who now heads the bloc’s list, is currently on trial for allegedly accepting more than 40 million lei in illegal financing for Shor-aligned political structures. Prosecutors are requesting a nine-year prison sentence. The court will issue a verdict on August 5.
