Communist Party Joins Electoral Patriotic Bloc; Name and Symbols to Be Updated

The Republican Council of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) has approved the Communist Party’s (PCRM) request to join the unified political bloc. As a result, the alliance will now operate under the name Electoral Patriotic Bloc of Socialists, Communists, Heart and Future of Moldova (BEP).

“Today, August 5, representatives of the four member parties will submit the necessary registration documents to the Central Electoral Commission,” the PSRM announced.

On August 4, the Communist Party publicly expressed its intention to join the Patriotic Electoral Bloc and formally proposed its inclusion to the three founding parties. The PCRM’s Central Committee also requested amendments to the founding agreement, seeking recognition as a co-founder.
