Moldovan students will continue to benefit from scholarships offered by the Government of Hungary under the “Stipendium Hungaricum” program during the 2026–2028 period. To formalize this, the Ministry of Education and Research of Moldova and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary will sign a new Memorandum of Understanding. The Government approved the decision to initiate negotiations and sign the document today.
“By signing this Memorandum, we continue to offer students from the Republic of Moldova the opportunity to pursue bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral studies in Hungary. Hungary traditionally provides 40 places for our students, and these opportunities will continue throughout the duration of this agreement until 2029,” said Dan Perciun, Minister of Education and Research.
The document aims to promote academic mobility for young people from Moldova by offering participation in the scholarship program provided by the Hungarian Government through the Tempus Public Foundation. The new Memorandum will replace the agreement signed in 2022 and will mark the fifth edition of the program, originally launched in 2014.
