Saturday, September 13, all music lovers are invited to Castel Mimi for the 8th edition of the VinOpera International Classical Music Festival, organized by the Constantin Mimi Foundation.
The President of the Foundation, Cristina Frolov, shares that the idea of organizing a classical music festival was inspired years ago by the late maestro Eugen Doga during a visit to Castel Mimi.
“The Gramophone Waltz” on stage at VinOpera 2025
“This idea came to us in 2017, when, together with Maestro Eugen Doga, we prepared the first performance in the VinOpera series and were walking around the castle. I remember him saying: ‘Cristina, these walls sing, they must always sing.’ And he blessed this event,” says Cristina Frolov.

This year’s edition pays tribute to Eugen Doga by including his famous composition “Valsul gramofonului”, alongside renowned arias by Mozart, Bellini, Verdi, and Rossini.
VinOpera will culminate with “La Traviata” by Giuseppe Verdi
Soloists from the Bucharest National Opera—winners of numerous international competitions, including Sorana Negrea, Alexandru Constantin, Georgiana Dumitru, and Andrei Petre—will perform on the stage at Castel Mimi. The Camerata Municipal Orchestra, conducted by Cristian Spataru, will accompany their voices. The evening will conclude with the toast scene from Verdi’s opera La Traviata, performed by all the artists.
The festival expects over 1,000 spectators, including 150 international visitors. Castel Mimi will welcome each guest with a glass of 9 Muses sparkling wine, recently awarded Gold at the Berliner Wine Trophy. This wine, made from the local Feteasca Alba grape, highlights Castel Mimi’s promotion of native grape varieties.
