Cristina Gherasimov to Marta Kos in Brussels: Our citizens want to see Moldova in the EU

Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov is paying a working visit to Brussels from October 14 to 16, where she met with European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.

During their discussions, Gherasimov highlighted the pace of reforms underway in the Republic of Moldova and outlined the preparations for the next steps in the country’s EU accession process.

“The outcome of the recent elections clearly showed that our citizens want Moldova to join the European Union. We continue to work intensively to advance on our European path,” said Cristina Gherasimov.

She thanked Commissioner Marta Kos and her team for their ongoing support to the Republic of Moldova, noting that EU assistance helps modernize the country and improve the living standards of its citizens.

During her visit, Gherasimov will also meet with European Commissioners, including Michael McGrath, Director-General of DG NEAR Gert Jan Koopman, Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs David McAllister, several Members of the European Parliament, and Taras Kachka, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.
