The park known as the “Autodrome Area,” located at the intersection of Dumitru Riscanu and Andrei Saharov streets in Chisinau’s Riscani district, has been fully renovated and has quickly become a favorite destination for both residents and visitors.
The modernization project included:
- paving pedestrian walkways;
- trimming and cleaning trees;
- installing a new public lighting system;
- landscaping green areas;
- placing urban furniture, including benches and waste bins;
- setting up a playground and two fitness zones, one of which is accessible to people with disabilities;
- installing tables for table tennis and chess;
- building a public restroom.
A key attraction of the renovated park is the “Children’s Road Safety Town,” a specially designed area equipped with road signs, markings, and portable traffic lights.
Here, children can learn and practice road safety rules through both theoretical and practical lessons, gaining valuable knowledge about how to cross streets safely and ride bicycles responsibly in public spaces.
The Chisinau Municipality implemented the project based on a design approved by the General Police Inspectorate and developed under a concept supported by the Federal Ministry of the Interior of Germany, which provided the equipment for the children’s safety area.
In addition, the municipality arranged new parking spaces along the park’s green zone and rehabilitated Dumitru Riscanu and Andrei Saharov streets, further improving accessibility and urban infrastructure in the area.
