An expert team from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Alina Iancu, will visit the Republic of Moldova on December 4–17, 2025, to conduct annual discussions under Article IV of the IMF’s Articles of Agreement.
According to the IMF Resident Representative Office in Chisinau, the mission will analyze recent economic developments, assess macroeconomic prospects and risks, and discuss policy and reform priorities with national authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
In line with Article IV of the IMF’s Articles of Agreement, the IMF conducts annual bilateral consultations with member countries. During these consultations, experts collect economic and financial data, review ongoing policies, and meet with authorities to discuss the country’s economic situation.
At the end of the visit, the team returns to Washington, where they prepare a detailed report. This document serves as the basis for discussions within the IMF Executive Board on the Republic of Moldova’s economic situation and the related recommendations.
