Igor Grosu Congratulates Ciprian Ciucu on Election as Bucharest Mayor

Speaker Igor Grosu congratulated Ciprian Ciucu on his election as Mayor of Bucharest.

“Yesterday’s vote shows that Bucharest residents support democracy and the continuity of important community projects,” Grosu said.

He wished Ciprian Ciucu success in carrying out his responsibilities and implementing projects for community development, highlighting the importance of stability and continuity for citizens.

PNL candidate Ciprian Ciucu won the mayoral election with 36.16% of the votes. Anca Alexandrescu, backed by AUR, received 21.84%. PSD candidate Daniel Baluta came third with 20.51%, USR candidate Catalin Drula came fourth with 13.90%, and Ana Ciceala received 5.85%. Other candidates received less than 0.3% each.

Voter turnout in Bucharest reached 32.71%, with 589,918 votes cast.

On Sunday, Romanian authorities held elections for the Mayor of Bucharest, the President of Buzau County Council, one city mayor, and 11 commune mayors.
