Ukrainian refugees will continue to benefit from temporary protection in the Republic of Moldova. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has initiated the procedure to extend this mechanism, aligning with the European Union’s decision to prolong protection throughout 2025.

“Moldova is aligning itself with EU Decision 2025/1460 on the extension of temporary protection. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reaffirms its commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient framework for displaced persons from Ukraine and continues to work with government institutions, local authorities, and international partners to implement support measures,” the institution announced.

The extension will allow refugees to remain legally in Moldova and continue accessing essential services, including healthcare, education, and employment opportunities.
