Chisinau and Tirana can cooperate in agriculture, education, culture, and tourism, Maia Sandu and Bajram Begaj said after their meeting in the capital of the Republic of Moldova. The two leaders also discussed Moldova’s role in strengthening democracy in Kosovo and the European Union accession of both countries.
Maia Sandu said that she and her Albanian counterpart reaffirmed their shared goal of European integration. She praised Albania’s experience in the EU accession process and said the authorities in Chisinau are ready to learn from Tirana.
“There is potential for cooperation in agriculture, education, culture, and tourism. There is room to increase trade exchanges. Moldova and Albania are moving along the European path with solidarity and confidence,” Sandu said.
Bajram Begaj said that Moldova plays an important role in strengthening democracy in Kosovo, especially during its presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. He also invited President Maia Sandu to visit Tirana.
