Direct flights from Chisinau to Seoul could be launched. The government is negotiating an agreement with the Korean authorities

The Government will negotiate an air services agreement with the authorities of South Korea after the Cabinet of Ministers approved the initiation of talks and authorized an official delegation.

The delegation includes representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Civil Aviation Authority. State Secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure Mircea Pascaluta will lead the team and initial the text of the agreement.

“We continue to diversify the routes operated from Chisinau International Airport and to expand the Republic of Moldova’s air connectivity with new international destinations. Through this agreement, we will create the necessary legal framework to establish the rules for operating air services and authorizing airlines,” State Secretary Angela Turcanu said during the Government meeting.

After the parties sign the agreement, authorities expect to launch direct air routes between Chisinau and destinations in South Korea, increase passenger traffic, and strengthen economic ties.
