War veterans in the Republic of Moldova will receive higher state allowances, which will amount to 11 percent of the average monthly salary in the economy.
The government is expected to approve the decision at its meeting on March 11. According to the draft proposal, people with war related disabilities will receive payments equal to 16 percent of the projected average monthly salary.
Spouses of war veterans who died in the line of duty will receive an allowance of 11 percent of the projected average monthly salary, while the surviving spouse of a veteran with disabilities will receive 10 percent.
For one of the parents of a war veteran who died in the line of duty, the state will provide a monthly payment equal to 11 percent of the projected average monthly salary.
Children of persons with war related disabilities who have died will receive allowances amounting to 10 percent of the projected average salary. The allowance will be paid until the age of 18, and if they continue their studies at a full time educational institution, until graduation or until the age of 23.
The projected average monthly salary in Moldova for 2026 is 17,400 lei, according to official estimates.
