The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova strongly condemned the violation of the country’s airspace by a Shahed drone detected on the morning of March 14 in Troitcoe. Authorities said such incidents represent a serious breach of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova.

“Republic of Moldova strongly condemns these actions and denounces the war of aggression carried out by Russia against Ukraine, which brings suffering, losses, and destruction to Ukraine while seriously affecting regional security and directly endangering the safety of Moldovan citizens.

In this context, the Republic of Moldova reaffirms its commitment to strengthening peace and national security and will continue all necessary actions, in cooperation with competent national institutions and international partners, to protect its territory and population,” the MFA said in a statement.

Earlier on Saturday, March 14, the Border Police of the Republic of Moldova received information from Ukrainian authorities that a Shahed drone had crossed Moldovan airspace in the eastern part of the country, traveling along the route Oleksandrivka (Ukraine) – Ucrainca.

According to the Ukrainian side, the drone disappeared from radar while over Moldovan territory near Troitcoe in Cimislia District.
