Igor Grosu said the opposition “treats it like a game” when journalists asked about the no-confidence motion against the government, which the Socialists plan to submit after the state of emergency ends. He also criticized deputies who questioned the Russian bombardments in Ukraine.

The Speaker called claims that the authorities fabricated the crisis “absurdities” and assured that the government acts to maintain the country’s supply of water, electricity, fuel, and other essential resources.

“The Prime Minister is a serious person. The opposition is acting unseriously. They treat it like a game, you understand? When institutions risked disconnection, they continued making absurd claims that the crisis was invented. They even questioned the bombardments in Ukraine and the Isaccea–Vulcanesti line. That is their choice. If they want to gain political capital from this misfortune, that’s up to them. We will fulfill all our duties to ensure the country has water, electricity, fuel, and so on,” Grosu stated.

On March 26, after prolonged discussions about a no-confidence motion against the government led by Alexandru Munteanu, Igor Dodon announced that the Socialists had prepared to submit the motion but could not do so due to the state of emergency. He said they had gathered the necessary signatures to initiate the procedure.
