Marta Kos spoke in Cricova about Moldova’s export potential. The visit took place at the invitation of the Chamber of Commerce

The European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, visited the “Cricova” wine cellar during her official trip to the Republic of Moldova, where she discussed export opportunities for Moldovan companies and broader economic cooperation with the European Union.

The visit took place on June 5 at the invitation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova. The meeting included the institution’s president, Sergiu Harea.

According to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the discussions focused on Moldova’s export potential, prospects for economic cooperation with the European Union, and measures needed to support the business environment.

The CCI representatives highlighted the institution’s role in helping Moldovan companies integrate into the European economy by facilitating access to new markets, developing export capacity, and increasing competitiveness.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova stated that it values the ongoing support of the European Union and reaffirmed its commitment to continuing cooperation with European partners to create new opportunities for Moldovan businesses.

It is worth noting that Marta Kos visited the Republic of Moldova between June 4–6 on an official three-day trip. Her agenda included participation in the EU–Moldova Investment Conference and the Moldova Digital Summit 2026, as well as meetings with local authorities and business representatives.

The visit followed the European Union’s official notification to Chisinau that it is ready to open negotiations on the first accession cluster.
