European Union Ambassador to Moldova Iwona Piórko said the EU has taken note of Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu’s decision to resign and stressed that the Moldova–EU partnership remains strong despite the political change.
“We have taken note of Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu’s decision to step down. I would like to thank him for his commitment and close cooperation with the European Union. We respect the constitutional and democratic procedures of the Republic of Moldova and the process of forming a new government,” the EU representative said, as quoted by TV8.
The ambassador also reaffirmed the European Union’s commitment to supporting Moldova’s reform agenda.
“The EU’s partnership with Moldova remains strong, and we will continue to support the reforms the country needs, as well as its European integration, in line with the will of its people,” the ambassador said.
