Officers of the National Anticorruption Center (CNA) have carried out a new round of searches at the state-owned enterprise MoldATSA. The investigative actions are part of the criminal case concerning the so-called “outrageous salaries” scandal.
The information was confirmed to Realitatea by CNA spokesperson Ina Voloșciuc.
“The National Anticorruption Center is conducting searches at the state-owned enterprise MoldATSA. The searches are being carried out as part of a criminal investigation into alleged acts of corruption and abuse of office. We will provide further details later,” the spokesperson said.
At the end of June, CNA officers also conducted searches at MoldATSA in connection with a criminal investigation into aggravated abuse of office. The investigation also concerns Anastasia Taburceanu, an employee of the enterprise and a cousin of President Maia Sandu.
The scandal surrounding MoldATSA erupted in mid-June following media investigations that alleged preferentially awarded inflated salaries and falsified management documents. An investigation by Ziarul de Gardă reported that MoldATSA Director General Dumitru Vangheli, who received a monthly salary of about 110,000 lei, had included false information in the CV that helped him win the competition for the position in 2025. He was subsequently suspended from office.
Later, investigations by RISE Moldova and TV8 reported that Anastasia Taburceanu, a former Government spokesperson and cousin of President Maia Sandu, had been hired at MoldATSA without a competitive recruitment process and received substantial remuneration as the company’s communications officer. According to the reports, her monthly income in 2026 exceeded 120,000 lei.
