An aircraft with characteristics similar to the Gheran-3 (Shahed-238) drone illegally entered Moldova’s airspace during the night of August 10-11. The aircraft was detected amid Russian airstrikes on Ukraine’s Odesa region.

According to the Air Operations Service of Moldova’s National Army, the aircraft was detected at 23:41 while flying from the direction of Stepanivka in Ukraine’s Odesa region. It entered Moldova’s airspace near the village of Priozerna.

One minute later, at 23:42, the aircraft left Moldova’s airspace and headed north toward Stepanivka in Ukraine.

Authorities said that checks showed the aircraft’s characteristics were similar to those of a Gheran-3 (Shahed-238) drone, which reportedly flew over Moldovan territory during Russian airstrikes against the Odesa region.

Authorities have not reported any incidents or damage in Moldova following the unauthorized airspace incursion.
