Moldovans can now report lost or stolen identity documents online directly from their phones or computers, according to the Public Services Agency (ASP). The service is available only to people who have an electronic signature.

Users can access the service through the evo.gov.md platform or the EVO mobile application by searching for the “Lost or Stolen Documents” option. Applicants must authenticate themselves and electronically sign the request.

The service covers lost or stolen identity cards, passports and identity cards.

People over the age of 18 can use the service to report the loss or theft of their own documents. Parents who are officially married can also submit requests concerning their minor children’s documents. A separate application must be submitted for each child.

Reporting the loss of an identity card or an identity document online is free of charge. Reporting a lost passport costs a state fee of 50 lei, which applicants can pay through MPay, at a bank, post office or payment terminal by 11:59 p.m. on the day they submit the application.

After the applicant submits the request and pays the fee, if applicable, the authorities automatically mark the document as “Lost” or “Stolen” in the State Population Register.

The applicant then receives confirmation by email.
