Five Uzbek citizens were expelled from the Republic of Moldova on August 14 after authorities found that they were staying in the country illegally and working without legal residence permits.
According to the General Inspectorate for Migration (IGM), the men had previously been documented for violating the country’s residence rules, fined and issued return decisions.
To enforce the expulsion orders, the five men were placed in public custody based on rulings issued by the Cahul District Court, Central Office.
The authorities also imposed a three-year entry ban on each of the five Uzbek citizens.
“Each of the five foreign citizens was ordered to return, accompanied by a ban on entering the territory of the Republic of Moldova for a period of three years,” the IGM said.
