Moldovan President Maia Sandu has expressed solidarity with Germany following an incident in Leipzig, where German authorities reported a drone incident near the airport.
“Full solidarity with Germany. Attacks like the one in Leipzig are aimed at testing Europe’s limits and undermining support for Ukraine,” Maia Sandu wrote in a social media post.
The Moldovan president accused Russia of using the same strategy in several European countries, suggesting that such incidents are part of an effort to create instability and weaken European support for Ukraine.
“Russia is using the same strategy across the continent. Europe must remain united in the face of this threat and always stay one step ahead,” Sandu added.
According to reports, a drone carrying an explosive device was found at Leipzig Airport during the night of August 4-5. Forensic analysis reportedly determined that the device contained a powerful explosive of a type used by the military.
German media reported that the cargo aircraft near which the explosive drone was discovered was reportedly carrying ammunition, raising concerns that the incident could have resulted in a serious catastrophe.
