President Maia Sandu met on September 22 with a delegation from the Foreign Affairs, Defense and Security Committee of the Czech Senate, led by Committee Chair Pavel Fischer and including Deputy Chair Marek Ošťádal and Senator Tomáš Czernin.
The officials discussed the Czech Republic’s support for Moldova’s European Union accession, security cooperation and development assistance projects.
Sandu thanked the Czech Republic for supporting Moldova’s European path and for its assistance in advancing reforms. She also expressed confidence that the partnership between the two countries would continue to strengthen as Moldova moves closer to EU membership.
The Czech Senate delegation is visiting Moldova from September 21 to 23. Its program includes meetings with representatives of Parliament, the Government and security institutions, focusing on bilateral cooperation, the regional security situation and Moldova’s European integration.
