Moldova’s MD Alert public warning system could become operational in 2027 if procurement procedures proceed as planned. Interior Minister Daniella Misail-Nichitin made the announcement.
According to the minister, the authorities have been working on developing the system since early 2026, and its concept was approved by the Government in March.
“Our goal is that, following all the procurement procedures, if we launch the procurement process at the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027, we will have the system operational during 2027,” Daniella Misail-Nichitin said during the Pe față programme on Moldova 1.
The project is being implemented in partnership with the World Bank. The MD Alert system will allow citizens to be alerted by phone in the event of emergencies.
