The Secretary General of the Government, Artur Mija, met on Monday, March 6, with the Ambassador of Romania in Chisinau, Cristian-Leon Țurcanu. The officials discussed the projects proposed to be carried out within the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of Romania, regarding the implementation of the technical and financial assistance program, based on a financial aid worth 100 million euros.
Within the first tranche of the Agreement, regional development and infrastructure projects, as well as projects in the field of education, are to be financed.

Regarding the second tranche, in the next period, the concepts of the projects proposed by the ministries will be collected, after which they will be prioritized – mainly, the funds will be channeled to the regions, so that the money will bring direct benefits to every citizen.
“The submitted portfolios will be analyzed taking into account the Government’s priorities – the reconstruction of the economy, the development of the infrastructure and ensuring the security of the country. We will also focus on projects in the field of agriculture and energy. We will make an effort to implement each project as quickly as possible, so as to deliver, as soon as possible, the results expected by the people”, said Artur Mija, stressing the importance of ensuring the complete absorption by our country of the funds made available by the Government of Romania,
For his part, Ambassador Cristian-Leon Țurcanu reiterated that Romania pays special attention to bilateral relations with the Republic of Moldova and will continue to support projects with a direct impact on improving the quality of life of citizens.
