A first meeting of Minister Popescu in Bucharest. He thanked the president of Senate for the help offered to Moldova

Ensuring the energy security of the Republic of Moldova against the background of Russia’s war against Ukraine, the need to boost the implementation of joint infrastructure projects, but also the ways to strengthen the bilateral dialogue, including in the parliamentary plan for the advancement of our country’s irreversible European path, were the subjects of the discussions of the Moldovan Foreign Minister , Nicu Popescu, with the interim president of the Romanian Senate, Alina Gorghiu, on the sidelines of the NATO Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Bucharest.

Nicu Popescu thanked the interim president of the Romanian Senate for the fact that Romania offers support to the Republic of Moldova so that the citizens of our country can be provided with electricity.

“I met in Bucharest with the interim president of the Romanian Senate, Alina Gorghiu. We conveyed to the President of the Senate our gratitude for all Romania’s support in solving the consequences of the energy crisis. Thanks to Romania, every citizen of our country has light in their homes. I also spoke with the Romanian official about the security challenges generated by the unjust war in Ukraine. And this time we received a firm and clear message of support for the Republic of Moldova in our process of European modernization and increasing resilience to current challenges, together and alongside Romania. The advancement of the parliamentary dialogue, including the promotion of new cultural projects will be the subject of discussions in during the visit of the President of the Senate to Chisinau at the end of the current week,” Popescu’s announcement states.

We remind you that today, November 30, Nicu Popescu is participating in the Meeting of Foreign Ministers of NATO states, held in Bucharest. The delegation of our country participates together with the other partner states – Ukraine, Georgia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
