20 soldiers from the Republic of Moldova will participate in the European Union’s operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (EUFOR ALTHEA). The mission is set to commence on October 1, 2024, and will last for 12 months.
Starting from October 1, 2024, our country’s contingent will participate in EUFOR ALTHEA alongside the Romanian military forces, conducting peace support and patrol missions in the operational area. The mission will last for 12 months, and the Romanian contingent will provide logistics support.

According to the statement issued by the Parliament, some expenses such as collective pre-deployment training, transportation, accommodation, meals, and medical treatment will cover the Romanian state.
It is worth noting that the European Union established the operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2004 with the mission to maintain a safe and stable environment, fully cooperating with the country’s armed forces and civilian authorities.
