Officers of Moldova’s National Anticorruption Center, under the supervision of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, are conducting investigative actions at the headquarters of the state-owned enterprise MoldATSA as part of a criminal case opened on suspicion of aggravated abuse of office.

The information was confirmed to Realitatea.md by the CNA’s press service.

The scandal surrounding MoldATSA erupted in mid-June following a series of journalistic investigations that alleged preferential salary payments and irregularities involving the company’s management.

An investigation by Ziarul de Garda reported that MoldATSA Director General Dumitru Vangheli, who was receiving a monthly salary of around 110,000 Moldovan lei, had included false information in the CV submitted for the 2025 competition that led to his appointment. He was subsequently suspended from office.

Later, investigations by RISE Moldova and TV8 alleged that Anastasia Taburceanu, a former government spokesperson and cousin of President Maia Sandu, had been hired by MoldATSA without a competitive selection process and received unusually high remuneration in her role as communications officer. According to the reports, her monthly income exceeded 120,000 lei in 2026.
