About 100 camps will be organized for children in Chisinau this summer, including 17 day camps, by two more than last year, and three camps with full stay. The prices increased by over 10% to 2,850 lei for a 15-day ticket.
Raisa Stratulat, senior specialist at the Extracurricular Education Management Unit of the General Education, Youth and Sports Division, told IPN that 14 sports camps, an ecological camp (GREEN GATE 2025 Project, based on the City Center of Young Naturalists), rest programs in 13 extracurricular institutions, 26 community centers subordinated to the General Division for the Protection of Children’s Rights will also be organized. There will be 25 thematic camps staged by “B. P. Hasdeu” Municipal Library and its branches.
Compared to the previous year, the number of day camps organized in educational institutions is by two units higher. Fifteen such cams were opened last year. The number of students who will rest in these camps is expected to increase from 1,230 students in 2024 to 1,405 this year.

The price of a ticket to the camp will be higher as the costs for food, electricity, employees’ salaries increased. Last year, the price of a ticket to a day camp was 2,550 lei, but this year it will be 2,850 lei for 15 days.
Parents pay 20% of the price of a ticket, i.e. 570 lei. The other part is covered by the authorities.
As many as 280 tickets will be offered free of charge to orphaned children, children with disabilities, children from large families, refugees, children from socially vulnerable families and other categories.
In two day camps where children rest for free, organized at the Theoretical High School for visually impaired children and Auxiliary School No. 6, the ticket price is 3,275 lei and is fully covered with funds from the municipal budget.
For full-stay camps, organized outside the city, such as “Poienita Vesela”, “Alunelul” and “Ciresarii”, the ticket price this year will be 4,100 lei for 10 days. 5,550 tickets will be at preferential prices. 80% of the price, i.e. 3,280 lei, is paid with budget funds, and 20% or 820 lei is the parents’ contribution.
A number of 862 tickets will be granted free of charge to particular categories of children, and 950 tickets will be at full cost.
The tickets to sports camps will also cost 4,100 lei, and parents will pay 20% of the price, which is 820 lei.
Raisa Stratulat said that the tickets to day camps, full-stay camps and sports camps will be distributed in the educational institutions where the children study.
The camps are due to open their doors at the beginning of June. Most of the managers already made the necessary requests to the Public Health Center and are completing the necessary works.
The General Education Division is waiting for the decision of the Chisinau Municipal Council, which must approve the allocation of the projected financial resources. Afterward, the process of distributing tickets to camps and of making other purchases will begin.
