A 30-day preventive arrest warrant has been issued for Ilan Shor in a case investigated by the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office of Moldova involving the illegal financing of the ALDE Moldova.
The Chișinău Court, Ciocana branch approved the prosecutor’s request on April 24 and imposed the preventive measure.
Prosecutors accuse Shor of organizing illegal party financing using unlawful sources, including money allegedly originating from a criminal organization, in order to maintain control over political and electoral processes in the Republic of Moldova.
Authorities charge him with organizing illegal financing of political parties and knowingly accepting funding from a criminal group, under the Criminal Code.
