Athletes from Moldova won 6 more medals at the World Championships

Moldovan weightlifter Marin Robu showcased his exceptional talent by clinching two medals at the European Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria. In the snatch event, he secured the silver medal with an impressive lift of 171 kg, while in the clean and jerk event, he lifted 207 kg, earning him a fourth-place finish. Robu’s combined total of 378 kg secured him the bronze medal in the overall ranking of the weight category up to 89 kg, adding to his impressive collection of accolades, which includes the title of U-23 European champion and a silver medal from the senior world championships.

Meanwhile, Irina Ringaci demonstrated her prowess on the wrestling mat, claiming the bronze medal at the European Senior Wrestling Championships in Bucharest, Romania. Competing in the women’s 65 kg category, Ringaci triumphed in the third-place match against Kadriye Aksoy of Turkey, securing her spot on the podium.

In another display of Moldovan excellence, weightlifter Elena Erighina showcased her strength and skill at the European Weightlifting Championships for Seniors in Sofia, Bulgaria. Erighina clinched three silver medals, finishing second in both the snatch and clean and jerk events with lifts of 103 kg and 131 kg, respectively. Her combined total of 234 kg also earned her second place in the overall ranking of the women’s 81 kg weight category.
