Attack on refugee center in Germany: five Moldovans are injured

A man injured seven people at a refugee center in eastern Berlin, police said on Wednesday, Agerpres reported.

Five of those injured in the incident, which took place on Tuesday night in Berlin’s Marzahn district, are Moldovan nationals. The other two victims, a security guard and a visitor to the center, are German citizens.

Paramedics and ambulance doctors treated the victims on the spot, treating cuts and stab wounds, and then transported them to the hospital. None of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries, the source said.

The alleged attacker, a 21-year-old Algerian man, was also wounded. He is in custody, and the motive for the attack remains unclear, German police said.
