Former employees of the Information and Security Service (ISS) of Moldova, formerly dismissed for corrupt practices, are preparing a disinformation and manipulation campaign. Its goal is to destabilize society and regional security.
This was reported by the press service of the ISS.
“The goal of the campaign: compromising diplomatic relations of Moldova, especially Moldovan-Ukrainian, reducing trust in public authorities, reducing the existing level of interaction between security, defense and law enforcement agencies of Moldova and Ukraine,” the agency explained.
The ISS also added that a group of individuals is preparing to launch a narrative in which they will accuse state institutions of actions against some Ukrainian citizens holding various positions in Ukrainian authorities.
“The group includes former intelligence officers, citizens of Moldova, who at different times were dismissed from their positions for corrupt actions, embezzlement of public money, abuse of power, seizure of people, unauthorized interaction with foreign intelligence services,” the institution concluded.
