The students and teachers of the Holercani Theoretical High School, Dubăsari district, will benefit from better conditions within the institution, after it was completely renovated, and today, September 28, in the presence of the country’s president, Maia Sandu, it was put into operation.
According to the president of the country, with the help of the European Union and the German International Cooperation Agency, which carried out the renovation work, the high school building was thermally insulated, the doors and windows were replaced, and the installed photovoltaic panels fully cover the institution’s electricity needs .
“I was today in Holercani, Dubăsari district, where the results of the project to increase the energy efficiency of the local high school were presented. The high school’s electricity consumption was significantly reduced and better study and work conditions were created for students and teachers,” announced the Head of State.

At the same time, the president states that ensuring energy security is a priority of the government, and investments in the energy efficiency of public buildings, homes and businesses will help reduce the costs of energy resources.
“We will thus respond to the increasingly frequent environmental challenges due to climate change. I am glad that, thanks to our development partners, similar projects are being carried out in dozens of localities of the country, which will change the lives of thousands of people for the better. I also thanked the residents of Holercani for contributing to the realization of this project. This is a very good example of community involvement, because all children in the Republic of Moldova deserve better conditions for education”, added Sandu.
