Dumitru Alaiba resigns from the position of Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization. He made this announcement on Thursday, March 13, on a social media platform, ahead of the Government meeting.
”Today, I am going to my last Government meeting. It has been two and a half years of tremendous work, during which I gave all my knowledge and energy to move things forward. Now, the next step is needed. I will continue to serve the country’s interests as long as necessary and wherever I am. I will continue to stand by President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Dorin Recean, and the government team, and I thank them for their trust. I laid the foundation for economic stability, and at this stage, I believe a new impulse is needed to accelerate the processes that have started to ensure economic growth. It has been the honor of my life to contribute. We move forward,” Alaiba wrote.
Dumitru Alaiba was appointed Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization in November 2022.

Prime Minister Dorin Recean thanked the resigning Minister of Economy, Dumitru Alaiba, for his work. At the same time, the head of the Government mentioned that the official would soon return to the team without providing further details.
