Breaking News! Iurie Rosca has been sentenced to six years in prison

Iurie Rosca, the former leader of the Christian-Democratic Popular Party (CDPP), has received a six-year sentence. The Buiucani Court of Chisinau delivered the ruling on August 2, 2024. Rosca posted the document on his Telegram account. The court imposed the sentence based on accusations of influence peddling related to a receipt he allegedly wrote and signed years ago.

The defendant can address the Court of Appeal within 15 days to request a review of the sentence.

Iurie Rosca has maintained his innocence, believing the authorities fabricated the case and falsified the evidence. He also alleges that political forces are targeting him due to his past actions, including his betrayal of the unionist electorate in exchange for positions granted by Vladimir Voronin.

Businessman Alexei Damaschin filed the case in 2017. In a handwritten receipt, Rosca allegedly admits to receiving $110,000 from Damaschin, with an additional $117,000 received earlier. The document also specifies “one million USD” as the amount owed once the legal matters concerning “Cascada” are resolved.

Iurie Rosca’s reaction: ”Dear friends, today, August 2, I was sentenced to 6 years in prison. This judgment reflects the globalist circles’ reaction to my critical stance on issues like the COVID-19 pandemic, the UN 2030 Agenda, and digital tyranny. Notably, I organized the Chisinau Forum, an international anti-globalist think tank, and edited many dissident books.

My political career included 4 mandates as deputy, 2 as deputy president of the Parliament, and 1 as deputy prime minister. I have always faced repercussions for my public beliefs.

We have 15 days to appeal to the Court of Appeal and then to the Supreme Court. I remain committed to my principles as an Orthodox Christian and patriot. Our fight continues. God bless you all!”
