Castel Mimi’s event is perfect if you care about protecting the environment. On the last Saturday in March, as the world observes Earth Hour by switching off electrical devices, Moldova’s only wine castle continues its tradition of hosting a Candlelight dinner.
For a few hours, all courtyard and castle lights will be turned off, and chefs will prepare the evening’s culinary delights over an open fire. Live guitar music will enhance the romantic atmosphere.

Castel Mimi – More Sustainable Every Day
As a leader in wines made from local varieties, Castel Mimi sets a sustainability standard in Moldova, from wine production to public events and tourism. It also built the country’s first zero-emission hotel.
“Castel Mimi is committed to protecting nature and continues to promote sustainable, eco-friendly practices, inspiring our guests and the business community. We firmly believe in our role in saving the planet and take meaningful action with visible results. In 2024, we met 90% of our electricity needs through Castel Mimi’s photovoltaic park, which produces 450 kW and has prevented nearly 300 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. Our zero-emission hotel runs entirely on green energy, and in 2025, we will inaugurate Moldova’s first Wine Spa, fully powered by solar energy,” states castelmimi.md.
