Chisinau Mayor Ion Ceban addressed residents at the opening of the “Te salut, Chisinau!” festival, held on the “Eugen Doga” pedestrian street to mark 589 years since the first documented mention of the city.
“Dear Chisinau residents and guests of the capital, I am honored to stand here with you today and extend my heartfelt congratulations to our beloved city, which celebrated 589 years since its first documented mention on July 17,” Ceban stated. “I warmly congratulate all Chisinau residents, with whom we succeed every day in building and transforming our shared home—Chisinau.”
The mayor expressed pride in every completed project, regardless of its size. “Nothing should stop us on the path we’ve chosen—to transform Chisinau. I hope each of you feels proud, wherever you are, when speaking about our capital or welcoming guests to our city,” he added.
Ceban emphasized that celebrating Chisinau’s birthday and its first historical mention helps people reconnect with their roots and deepens their love for the city. “This tradition reminds us of our roots, our city’s history, and the importance of continuing to cherish our home—Chisinau,” he said.
From July 18 to 20, the public is invited to celebrate the capital’s cultural diversity, rich history, and traditions at the 5th edition of the “Te salut, Chisinau!” festival on Eugen Doga pedestrian street.
