Born on June 14, 1932, in the village of GrinăuÅ£i, BălÅ£i County (now Râşcani District), Spiridon Vangheli embarked on a remarkable journey that would leave an indelible mark on the literary world. After graduating from the “Ion Creangă” State Pedagogical Institute (now the “Ion Creangă” State Pedagogical University), he worked as a school teacher and later as an editor at the publishing houses “Cartea Moldovenească” and “Lumina.”

Throughout his prolific career spanning over half a century, this literary maestro has published numerous volumes, including renowned works such as “The Little Boy from the Blue Hut,” “Guguţă’s Exploits,” “Columb in Australia,” “Guguţă – Ship Captain,” “CiuboÅ£el’s Star,” “Guguţă and His Friends,” “Children in the Shackles of Siberia,” and “The Princess.” His literary works have been translated into over 40 languages and have been published in 78 countries worldwide. Spiridon Vangheli has received multiple national and international awards in recognition of his outstanding contributions to literature.
