Chisinau has asked Tiraspol not to jeopardize the October 20 elections, transmitting the request through its delegation to the Unified Control Commission (CUC).
At the meeting held on October 10, 2024, the Moldovan delegation informed that the territorial subdivisions of the General Inspectorate of Police stationed in the Security Zone will ensure public order in the localities where polling stations will be opened.
“The Delegation of the Republic of Moldova appealed to all participants in the work of the Unified Control Commission and the Joint Military Command of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces not to admit in the Security Zone situations that could hinder the smooth conduct of the elections, including the blocking of freedom of movement of citizens or election officials,” the representatives of the Reintegration Policy Office said.
