Ion Ceban, General Mayor of Chisinau, announced that municipal authorities will urgently intervene in Durlesti following a meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations held last evening.
The decision follows requests from residents and responds to what the mayor described as a “deplorable” situation in the town. The municipality will support Durlesti by rehabilitating several streets, carrying out sanitation works, and removing accumulated waste.
According to Ceban, teams began interventions the same evening, depending on weather conditions.
“The streets proposed for the coming period are: Dimo, Caucaz, Vladimirescu, and Alexandru cel Bun. To carry out the works, we convened the Chisinau Commission for Emergency Situations. The situation in recent times has been deplorable. Even in difficult moments, we remain united,” Ceban stated.
Authorities previously detained Eleonora Saran and deputy mayor Mihai Enachi on February 27, 2026. The case also involves cadastral engineers, the deputy head of the Chisinau Territorial Cadastral Service, local councilors, and beneficiaries of land alienation schemes.
Investigators suspect that the group created a complex scheme to deprive Durlesti City Hall of intravilan land plots. On March 27, judges extended Eleonora Saran’s pre-trial detention by 30 days.
