Chisinau will introduce visas for 12 countries, including CIS countries

In the future, the Republic of Moldova will introduce visas for citizens of 12 countries, according to the statement of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mihai Mitu, who on March 28, presented in Parliament the agreement to terminate the visa-free regime with Ecuador.

The adaptation of national policies with the EU visa policy is inevitable, given the EU accession procedure. We will take these actions gradually as we move closer to this process. When denouncing the agreement with Ecuador, authorities considered the impact and started with countries with a lower impact on citizens.

Currently, citizens of 12 countries can enter the Republic of Moldova without a visa: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Cuba, Ecuador, Qatar, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan.
