Compensation for political repression: A resident of Donduseni will receive 1.9 million lei from the state

A person from Donduseni will receive 1.9 million lei from the state. The money is compensation for political repression.

The first instalment of 4.8 million lei will be staggered for the period 2023-2027, according to the information note of the Government decision. The draft is expected to be approved at the cabinet meeting on Wednesday 28 February.

The money is allocated after the decision of a local commission and the decision of the Edinet court, pronounced on 27 October 2022, upheld by an irrevocable decision of the Balti Court of Appeal.

According to the legislation in force, persons subjected to repression and rehabilitated are restored to political, social and civil rights lost as a result of persecution.
