Young Moldovan athlete Cornel Rusu achieved a notable result at the European Wrestling Championships, winning the bronze medal in the 60 kg category at his first participation in a senior-level tournament, the National Teams Training Center announced.
Rusu secured a hard-fought victory over Denis Mihai from Romania to earn his place on the podium. Another Moldovan competitor, Victor Ciobanu, also competes in the same weight category.
“Congratulations, Cornel, on this outstanding result, and to the coaches who contributed to his development as a high-performance athlete,” the National Teams Training Center stated.
