Acting Minister of Economy Doina Nistor hinted that she might take on a new public role after leaving the current government. During a press conference, she neither confirmed nor denied the possibility of leading “Moldova Proiect,” an institution set to coordinate investment projects, according to government sources, bani.md reports.

“When asked about taking leadership of ‘Moldova Proiect,’ Nistor replied, ‘We are having discussions and we’ll see. We see and discuss.’”

Nistor stressed the importance of continuing the economic initiatives launched during her mandate and expressed confidence in her designated successor, whom she knows well and considers a professional. “I held meetings to ensure that all initiatives started — many of them firsts for the Republic of Moldova — will continue. I am confident that my successor will work with the same dedication and speed to achieve results,” she said.

She also highlighted that institutional agility and the ability to respond to global economic changes remain essential for Moldova’s development. “To remain economically competitive in a world of so many technological transformations, we need to be agile, have efficient institutions, and adapt quickly,” Nistor emphasized.

Doina Nistor will not join the cabinet formed by Alexandru Munteanu. Eugen Osmochescu will head the Ministry of Economy in the new government.
